1.
Target practise
I had to include this great
tip as an activity that encourages boys to pee in the toilet.
Drop a ping pong ball or toy plastic boat into the bowl and
ask toddler to hit the target to sink the boat!
2.
Toilet rhyme
This is the rhyme that appears
in my "I go to the toilet" book. I said it over
and over with my daughter when she looked like she needed
to go to the toilet and after a few times she began saying
it herself. "When I feel I need to go, I hurry to the
toilet, I can't be slow. Pull my pants down, past the knees.
Sit down relax and do the wees! The aim is for the toddler
to identify that 'feeling' and rush to the toilet quickly.
You could think of you own rhyme with your toddler - lots
of words rhyme with poo!
3.
Toy role modeling
If having trouble toilet
training, pop your child's favourite toy on the toilet and
pretend it went to the toilet and praise it's efforts. Get
creative with sound effects or yellow food coluring or a fake
'number 2's and show your toddler. This had a friends son
going within an hour! From Nicole in Busselton WA.
